Here is a look into our new week

Language Arts:
  • Story: Unit 3-Week 3 "George Washington Visits"

    • Weekly comprehension exam: Cause and Effect

Math:
  • Continue with Chapter 8: Numbers to 100
    • We are focusing on teaching the students how to make groups of ten and then count on
    • Students are having a hard time showing numbers using rods of 10 (groups of ten) and cubes of 1 (ones)
    • Here is a song that shows the students the teen numbers (using tens and ones) this is a great way to "see" what we are trying to show them so they can then count higher with more tens and ones
Science:
  • Chapter 4: Plants and animals
    • Students will be able to match young animals with their parents.
    • Students will describe how animals change as they grow.
      • Will focus on the life cycle of a frog and a butterfly
    • Students will tell how plants chance as they grow

Social Studies:
  • Unit 2-Lesson 1: What are symbols?
    • Students will recognize nation and state symbols and icons

Leadership:
  • Excellence: Confidence
