Language Arts:
  • Story: Unit 5-Week 4 "The little engine that could"


Writing:
  • Writing stories
Math:
  • Continue with Chapter 17: Subtraction stories
    • Students will be able to represent subtraction stories with subtraction sentences
    • Students will be able to compare two sets and show the number sentence to answer, how many more
    • Students will be able to subtract fluently to 5
Science:
  • Chapter 8: Motion
      • Students will be able to order objects by how fast they move.
      • Students will b able to identify objects a magnet attracts.
     
  •  Clouds
    • 3 cloud types (cirrus, cumulus and stratus)
Social Studies/Leadership:
  • Social studies: Unit 4-Lesson 3: What symbols do you know?
    • Students will be able to identify symbols and map symbols (e.g those for land, water, roads, cities)
  • Leadership: Service and responsibility

    • Students will be able to classify objects using two attribute
    • Students will be able to classify and sort object
  • Chapter 17: Addition stories
    • Students will be able to use symbols and numerals to write number sentences
Science:
  • Chapter 8: Motion
    • Students will be able to use position words to tell where objects are located.
    • Students will be able to tell that a push or a pull can change how an object moves.
    • Students will be able to order objects by how fast they move.
    • Students will b able to identify objects a magnet attracts.

NEW HOMEWORK:
The kindergarten team is doing their part to help save paper. As you may have seen, our homework packets have changed. Math has stayed the same (2 practice pages) but Language Arts has been scaled down to fit on one page and students are required to attach their proof of work to receive full credit. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me or stop by the classroom.
