-Students are allowed to bring in Valentines this day
-We have 26 students in our class
-To make it easier on the students to pass out cards please fill out "To: Friend"and "From: student's name"
2/13:Lincoln's Birthday-No school
2/16: President's day-No school
2/18: 100th day of school and Practice Drill @9:00 am
2/20: Family Lunch Friday
2/26 Awards Assembly with performance
-We will be singing a Martin Luther King song
-Feel free to have students practice the song at home

Language Arts:
- Story: Unit 3-Week 5 "Then and Now"
- Weekly comprehension exam: Draw Conclusions
Math:
- Continue with Chapter 9: Comparing Sets
- Comparing sets up to 10
- Students will be able to understand fewer and less
- Comparing sets 11-20
- Comparing sets to find the difference
- Students will be able to count the difference through comparing sets in one-to-one correspondence.
Science:
- Begin Chapter 7: Matters and Mixtures
- Students will be able to identify and measure solid objects.
- Students will be able to observe how liquids take the shape of their containers.
- Students will be able to tell that gases fill their containers
- Students will be able to tell how water changes by freezing, melting and boiling
Social Studies:
- Valentines Day
- Fun projects all week long
Leadership:
- Perseverance: The Civil Rights Movement
